Purpose and goal
Through the project, Ecohelix intends to increase the production capacity of the biopolymer Woodmer® at the demo plant at the Domsjö Fabriker. The purpose of the scale-up is to validate the product in commercial applications, verify a new environmental system, and verify a new processing concept that will reduce the risk of further scale-up. The goal is to establish a production facility large enough to supply selected applications with Woodmer®.
Expected effects and result
The outcome of the project will be that the product is verified in multiple applications and that sustainable customer relations are established. The verification of the new processing concepts will provide valuable insights into the design of a full-scale process. These results will reduce the overall risk in the project and enable the scale-up into a full-scale production unit. New green jobs will be created and the climate impact within the value chain of the application will be reduced.
Planned approach and implementation
The project will be executed in close collaboration with Domsjö Fabriker, external partners, and customers. The project was started in June 2023 and the installation is planned to be finalized during the spring 2024. The ambition is that the plant will reach max capacity during the spring 2025.
