Important results from the project
The created prototype is a tool that can visualize the security of a large number of products. It is possible to connect to it both through an API and by integrating it into a development environment, e.g. GitHub, Azure DevOps or similar. The prototype runs in a cloud environment and aggregates information about components and vulnerabilities. It is also very easy to get started with and can be tested easily with just a few clicks.
Expected long term effects
The prototype can be used to increase the understanding and efficiency of the security work. It can be used to gain better knowledge of product security and to gain a better overview of this security. The information displayed is up to date and automatically updated all the time. Both developers and other people in the organization can help increase the security of products and devices.
Approach and implementation
The implementation has involved both backend developers, frontend developers, UI / UX designers and security analysts. Information, both for units and regarding security, has been collected and aggregated. Views to visualize the information have been designed and implemented. We also conducted a security analysis of the prototype itself and investigated how the information can best be presented to people in different roles.
