Important results from the project
The ENIAC JU project SE2A can be regarded as a set of coherent activities around certain themes, each of which is expected to contribute to the main goals. These goals are: Increase of the fuel efficiency by development of dedicated sensors 1. Reduction of the CO2 emission, likewise by the development of dedicated sensors. 2. Enhanced safety by the application of dedicated sensors and improved system concepts. 3. Enhanced reliability and lifetime predictability to a level of zero ppm and 95% accuracy, to be achieved by increased process and product robustness.
Expected long term effects
The Swedish partners (VTEC, Optronic, and SP) will do research and development on an optically based true ground speed sensor for the benefit of enhanced existing and future vehicle safety system and by using existing vehicle sensors through innovative sensor data fusion algorithms.
Approach and implementation
The activities of the Swedish group are divided in three parts: 1. Definition and specification. Deliverable: Report. 2. Investigation of sensor. Delivarable: Report and prototype sensor. 3. Prototyping and verification. Delivarable: Report and demonstrator system.
