Important results from the project
The project has fulfilled its goal to build a platform and deploy a telecom data lab allowing for open and controlled access of data. It has also developed processes and license templates to handle legal aspects of sharing non-open data. Ericsson has successfully conducted a proof of concept to install a local SE-CAID platform in their system and connected it with the main SE-CAID platform, demonstrating the distributed aspect of the architecture.
Expected long term effects
Ericsson participants have presented the results of their proof of concept to internal stakeholders, secured their interest and showed how SE-CAID could be beneficial for Ericsson and democratization of AI. After legal discussions with AI Sweden, Jonas Ledendal from Lund University is now a member of their Legal Expert Group, driving licensing and standard modular agreements. The city of Stockholm and Stokab have surveyed necessary competencies and developed processes around this as well as a method for applications to authorities adapted to the situation of municipalities.
Approach and implementation
For the whole duration there has been regular weekly or biweekly meetings for discussing technical, legal and administrative aspects of the project, which has worked well. In addition, there has been frequent meetings and interactions between partners focusing on more technical discussions and implementation details. The software implementation work has followed normal open-source methods with common repositories (ICE gitlab) and git version control.
