Important results from the project
The goal for the participating organizations was to develop the Swedish educational platform studi to an international service that supports genuine multilingual learning for students attending school in another language than their first. To create learning material about gender, sexuality and honour-related issues. Increase girls´ interest in technology and programming. Work packages that have been implemented have made the project reach, and in many cases, surpass its goals.
Expected long term effects
The goals and metrics have been reached and, to some degree, exceeded, where 91% of tutors and teachers say that the project has helped them. 55% of total usage in the technology subject is by girls, who also state software developer as a possible future profession. Boys´ use of the service has also increased. By the end of the project, 84 municipalities had joined the project (goal was 40), and the service is commercially available in 7 countries, with major contracts signed in four of these.
Approach and implementation
The user group established for the innovation environment became more significant and larger than the project initially stipulated. That led to the project being able to carry out more substantial research with qualified and reputable researchers and universities. The larger number of members in the innovation environment also added a broader user base and the financial possibility to produce more lessons, which enabled a high degree of fulfilment relative to integration- and equality goals.
