Important results from the project
The preliminary study was carried out by Saintpro AB ,2D fab AB and with a company like injection molded PC / GR with different properties and interference. We made injection molded in the form of slices. Two experiments were conducted during the preliminary study. Results reinforce the hopes of being able to manufacture PC / graph composites with features for bulletproof security equipment. We have built a value chain with companies that can produce larger scale PC / graph composites pellets . Several prospects are very interested in the type of bulletproof products we intend to produce.
Expected long term effects
Our results reinforce the hopes of being able to manufacture PC / graph composites with features that can make them bulletproof in personal security equipment. The next step is to find the right blend to meet the ballistic requirements.
Approach and implementation
The preliminary study was carried out by Saintpro AB and 2D fab AB, using a digital company as injection molded samples. The raw material PC acquired from Erteco. The PC and the graph, with different surface properties and with different amount of interference, were prepared and pelleted before injection molded. Two experiments were conducted during the preliminary study. Dalarna University evaluated the material (discs), results showed an improvement over PC. Sharp test shifts were conducted by Saintpro.
