Important results from the project
Safer Internet Centre (SIC) has completed all deliveries to the EU in accordance with the agreement. The project has contributed to the overall goal of increasing knowledge about child safety online and providing direct support through the helpline and hotline. Youth participation has increased. An important result is the increased collaboration with other stakeholders. This has been done through the start of the advisory board, conference and participation in networks.
Expected long term effects
SIC´s long-term effects are that the knowledge developed within the project will contribute to a safer internet for children. That children and young people´s own experiences are recognized and that they receive support and help with their lives online. A continued safe removal of sexual child abuse material and sexual child exploration material online. The project will strengthened the long-term support for children and increased knowledge about their digital rights.
Approach and implementation
The content of the project is regulated in the agreement with the EU Commission. The Swedish Agency for the Media coordinates the project, but each organisation has a project manager. Regular Project meetings have been held for planning and implementation of joint activities. The project has a steering group and an advisory group. A success factor has been the good collaboration between the project´s parties.
