Important results from the project

The project has mainly fulfilled the objectives and the goals that were set up at the time for the application. The project has conceived a general model and a technical solution for integrating uncertain information from a user model in dialogue. The project has built a demonstrator for the technology developed. A user study has been conducted in order to gain knowledge about how predictive dialogue is perceived from a user perspective. Insights about models for integrating mobile functionality in an in-vehicle setting has been won. The demonstrator runs on the desired platform.

Expected long term effects

The project has resulted in a demonstrator and a technical solution for reducing the amount of utterances in dialogue with an in-vehicle spoken dialogue system. A number of publications are in preparation and/or submitted to relevant conferences and journals. A bachelor dissertation has been written at HH. A solution architecture for integrating mobile-based functionalities in the in-vehicle environment has been established, aling with a number of design principles for predictive dialogue in vehicles. A rapid prototyping method for research about such dialogue has been created.

Approach and implementation

The project has been implemented largely as described in the application. An analysis phase was followed by an implementation phase and a user study. Capitalising on the fact that the implementation was iterative, insights gained during the course of the project (user studies) could be integrated into the implementation.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
