Important results from the project
In this project we wanted to evaluate the possibility to develop a simple and cost effective rock size distribution analyzer. We have identified suitable hardware components and with a simple software proven that data collection is feasable.
Expected long term effects
The results show that we are on the right path to the greater goal, a new product. Our future expectations is that we can develop a finished product and bring it to a global market.
Approach and implementation
During the earlier stage of the project we researched suitable hardware components, laser sensor and computing unit. As there were experience from other projects in the group, we could select components with low technical risk. Based on the results we then selected a software platform to suit the hardware and that we believe can be developed to a finished product. To verify the concept a simple software was produced that can collect data from the laser sensors. No major obstacles were encountered and work progressed as planned.
