Important results from the project
The feasibility study intended to establish the market needs and technical feasibility as well as establish the required network. It turned out a first prototype and market introduction is possible to realize sooner than expected with better than expected results. The market need exceeded expectations. A study from Svensk Byggtjänst shows failures in communication for larger construction project increase costs roughly by 13% totaling in excess of 3200 million SEK / year for the market.
Expected long term effects
The feasibility and need has been established both internally and externally. An internal technical development plan has been established and KTH are involved in the next phase. The market needs and possible industry savings turned out far greater than expected. Patent possibilities will be evaluated in the next phase. In the next phase a prototype will be developed working closely with KTH and the construction market for quick market introduction.
Approach and implementation
The project was carrier out in close proximity with project partners from the industry, political, academics and the construction industry. Visits to construction sites as well as the fabric that will make the prototype took place. This will simplify the coming prototype development phase as well as ensure a quick market introduction fulfilling a real need.
