Important results from the project

The objective to create a consensus around prioritized challenges within sustainable production and to work towards connecting and strengthening regional and national initiatives. This goal must be considered achieved. The Future Plan itself has been developed in collaboration between academia, institute, and industry. Through the parties´ engagement, several existing networks and initiatives have been integrated into the work, such as The Swedish Manufacturing R&D Clusters, Production reference group of Teknikföretagen, the Swedish Production Academy, and SuPr.

Expected long term effects

The project´s objective: "The Future Plan shall gather stakeholders through a common agenda that develops the area, thereby strengthening Swedish competitiveness in sustainable production" is largely achieved. A result of the project is the formation of the ´Forum for Sustainable Production,´ which will continue even after the project has ended. The forum will continue the project´s main task, i.e., to gather stakeholders to, based on a common vision, work towards strengthening existing initiatives in the area of sustainable production and to collaborate in creating new ones

Approach and implementation

The work has centered around an overarching view of challenges and enablers within the area of sustainable production. The content was developed through a series of workshops within RISE, Teknikföretagen and the Swedish Production Academy. A steering group consisting of project partners, financing agencies (Vinnova and the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth), representatives from academia and Production 2030, SuPr and industry, has acted as the steering committee. Along with a smaller working group, they have managed and developed the content of the Future Plan
