Important results from the project
The project contributed to research within information quality. The cooperation between Computer Science at Linnaeus University and Computational Linguistics at Uppsala University has been strengthened. The industrial collaboration with Sigma Technology, Ericsson, and Softwerk is successful and has resulted in new projects. The group is now part of an excellent research environment at Linnaeus University.
Expected long term effects
The research has contributed methods to more effectively measure information quality, in terms of accuracy and cost/performance, by improving how information is analyzed. Results from the project are already used by our industrial partners. Another effect of the project is that there is now a female research leader and a female doctoral student in computer science at Linnaeus University, which long-term will help increase the number of women in computer science, both in industry and academia.
Approach and implementation
The project manager has stayed at Linnaeus University and Uppsala University and enjoyed a good exchange of both environments, e.g. in the form of courses, mentoring, and other resources. Furthermore, the underlying research project was characterised by a close industrial cooperation that has worked very well. Overall, the project implementation has been good and had a functional approach.
