Important results from the project
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The aim of the competition is to encourage researchers to participate in a dialogue with the outside world, increase public interest in research and the research profession, pay attention to various actors on the importance of researchers communicating about their research and, by extension, contributing to more contacts and meetings between researchers and the outside world. The competition also aims to give research communication higher status and more attention, as well as showing on the breadth of Swedish research.
Expected long term effects
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** A total of 31 phd students and researchers, 16 women and 15 men, participated in the local competitions. Two participants were selected from the digital competition. Five men and three women competed in the final. For the first time, English presentations were allowed. About 1000 people attended the local competitions, the final 350. The live broadcast had about 1,200 views until 31/12 2019. FGP had 38 media mentions up to 31 Dec 2019. The competition received high score in the evaluations, both among the competing researchers and the visitors.
Approach and implementation
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Six regional competitions took place as part of the science festival ForskarFredag September 27-28, funded by the respective local organizer, as well as an open digital competition. The winners of the competitions met in a final in Stockholm on November 26, jointly organized by the four research councils and the VA.
