Important results from the project

The aim of the research program Mission Welfare was to initiate, carry out and disseminate the results from research studies which highlights questions concerning how future welfare services will be performed, organized, controlled and evalated. The program had policy relevance as an overarching goal in order for the reseach to become of practical use for politicians, companies, authorities and other organizations.

Expected long term effects

The research Mission Welfare has generated has evoked and will continue to evoke debate among the relevant target groups. The outcome of the program is in-depth knowledge about how future welfare services should be performed, organized, controlled and evaluated. The specific areas covered are e.g. public procurement, innovation procurement, E-health and the welfare markets in practice.

Approach and implementation

The objective of the research program: Mission Welfare is to scientifically provide answers to some of the issues that are central to politicians, decision-makers in companies, public authorities and organizations to make well-informed decisions and also evaluate the impact of decisions in a better way. The research will be transnational in the sense that Swedish and international researchers from different disciplines will be involved in the program. The intention is also to compare Sweden with other countries and to identify best practices in the welfare sector.
