Important results from the project

The goal of this project is to demonstrate and qualify ReRail in full-scale test operation, as well as to ensure implementation in an industrial system and use. The overall goal is for ReRail to become an approved product that can be sold to infrastructure owners throughout Europe, to reduce wear and tear and maintenance costs on rails.

Expected long term effects

The results from the project show that there is great potential for ReRail to become a new, quality-assured, environmentally friendly rail that reduces material consumption, maintenance efforts and maintenance costs. ReRail can in the long run become the most sustainable life-extending concept for railways, because the rails are a basic prerequisite for a functioning railway system.

Approach and implementation

The project contains three work packages in addition to project management and reporting. These are: Follow-up of ongoing test operation and qualification in a full-scale test Mapping of regulations with any new criteria for operation and maintenance Upscaling, a business plan that will result in a business plan for ReRail that includes future partners, a plan for how ReRail will gradually have increased application and use by demonstrating increased sustainability and profitability
