Important results from the project
The purpose and aim of the project has been to evaluate an IoT solution to measure moisture in building structures remotely using wireless sensors, investigating the optimal positioning of these sensors and validating the alarm levels in a controlled environment.
Expected long term effects
The result of practical testing shows that the choice of humidity sensor and the humidity sensor location is very important in order to be able to detect moisture. The spread of the moisture level in the joists has also been measured.
Approach and implementation
A building construction in the form of a bathroom floor has been prepared with wireless sensors and RISE reference sensors mounted in different parts of the construction. Thereafter, tests according to a developed method for testing of sealing layers (ETAG 022) have been performed. During the 4-month test, data was continuously generated from the wireless sensors. The result has been analyzed and continuously compared with RISE reference sensors with positive outcome.
