Important results from the project
1. Create a circular based growing and farming of vegetables and fish products, The possibilities to establish a large scale greenhouse in Bjuv has been studied and the odds for a success has increased. There are now clear roadmaps for funding, technical solutions and structure for business agreements between parties. 2. Develop new types of rational and sustainable food production which can be implemented nationally and globally. By using waste streams the competitiveness in enhanced and the sustainablity profile for the Product is boosted. ´Sweden´ is strong brand within food.
Expected long term effects
1. Define investment, product and production cost for fish farming and greenhouse growing Calculations exist and have been presented to funders. Preliminary product cost indicates that the new business will be competitive. 2. Define timeline and organisation for step 2 It will be possible to start building the facilities during 2016, but dependant on funding and city planning process 3. Define technical solutions Depending on choice of Products, technical solutions exist 4. Develop draft business agreements for all parties who will be involved in step 2 Under development
Approach and implementation
During step 1 the work has been organised in 3 workstreams: 1)Greenhouse growing 2)Fish farming 3)Waste heat solution The coordination between the workstreams has been handled by Findus via 5 common project meetings and workshops during the project. The Project parties have also had meetings with funders, authorities, customers and potital suppliers of technical solutions. The Project has also organisised a ´Pitch and Match´ event togehter with Sustainable Business Hub where suppliers to the greenhouse pitch ideas against predefined technical challenges.
