Important results from the project

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The purpose of the project was to be able to demonstrate the benefits of using ozone instead of chemicals to enable a higher degree of reuse of cooling water and thereby save both energy and water. With this project, we have been able to prove to a number of different types of customers and processes that ozone works very well for this purpose.

Expected long term effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** This process enables large savings of water as we can use the cooling water for a much longer time, as we remove the 1 microbiology in the water. We also prevent the build-up of the biofilm cooling units (heat exchanger), which meant that this part of the process used 20-50% less energy during the period that the tests were in progress. We were also able to greatly reduce and in most cases eliminate unwanted microbiology on the products that were cooled down.

Approach and implementation

Our pilot skid was a mobile unit that enabled easy integration into customers´ production lines. The system contained all the parts to be able to concentrate the oxygen present in the air (compressed air at the customer in the form of compressed air). The oxygen was then used to produce ozone. The ozone gas that is then mixed into the process water, andthe water quality and how much ozone we want to have left to be able to protect the product (the fruit, the vegetable, etc.). Our equipment continuously measured a number of parameters in the water so that we can dose the correct amount of ozone.
