Important results from the project
In this work Emissivity is obtained by two methods. One method is measured on to samples heated close to 100°C compared to radiation from a Blackbody BB at 100°C. The method includes a Goley detector plus filter makes it sensitive 2-35um approximately. Emissivity of a surface is also measured on samples that are not on metallic material such as glass or plastic. The surface can still be a metal. To do this a FTIR Bruker 80 instrument with a gold coated sphere is used. A report describes how correction is obtained from the Blackbody 100°C method. A comparison is done with good agreement.
Expected long term effects
Measurements are done fore important industry in Sweden and abroad.
Approach and implementation
Two methods have been developed. Equipment have been developed in house and bought in the project. samples on metal can be measured in both methods and are used to develop correction factors for the spectral measurements in the FTIR. From the results a comparison have been conducted with good result.
