Important results from the project

Raceband has been a project to create the next generation endurance race experience. Through connected hardware, Raceband will create an interactive digital tool for race organizers and enhance the experience before, during and after endurance races. The project has delivered a solution for smart watches and mobile phones which is an important communication tool for race organizers, but also an opportunity for organizers to create value for sponsors. It has simplified the communication flow to participants and created a whole new level of inspiration and safety during events.

Expected long term effects

Raceband has already contributed to the expected effects that we stated in the proposal where the most apparent effect is to support the company in the international expansion. We can already see that the project has contributed to our strong development, where in less than half a year we launched in 26 countries. We have built in brand new safety functionality in the product that gives all races of any size a tool for creating safer events. We have also launched successful timing functionality which will be the basis for changing the market for timing in the world.

Approach and implementation

The project has been successful and we have maintained the core of the project team over the project. From the beginning we have had a project plan with clear milestones that have lead to the success. The amendment of the project made in June 2019, the plan was revised and resources were redistributed according to plan. Since we could use most of the work that was done, we could create a product that is more flexible and accessible. We have learned some lessons how we could better implement certain parts of the project, but these are of a lesser nature and the overall outcome was very good.
