Important results from the project

The goal is to improve the quantification of uncertainties in the calculation of pollutant concentrations in stormwater and the calculated treatment effects for stormwater facilities. StormTac Database was updated with reviewed data regarding calculation of pollutants in stormwater and treatment effects in stormwater facilities. The database was released and implemented in the model StormTac Web. These tools are currently used in stormwater projects and meets the requested need for quantification of uncertainty. The project also produced a scientific paper and a manuscript.

Expected long term effects

A methodology for quantifying uncertainty in stormwater calculations has been developed in collaboration with LTU. It has been published in an international journal and implemented in the StormTac Web model. Data in StormTac Database was updated through literature search and developed as an available Web application. These tools are now used in projects by municipalities and companies, and for research by universities. The data was processed and used in an improved methodology described in a submitted manuscript, for implementation in StormTac Web and similar models.

Approach and implementation

StormTac has developed an improved methodology for quantifying uncertainty in stormwater calculations in collaboration with LTU, through literature studies regarding methodology, with ongoing implementation of the methodology and analyze of data for various uncertainties in input and output data in StormTac Web. Data was also compiled into StormTac Database. Updated calculations were performed for two case studies and evaluated. This resulted in performed and planned model improvements. The method and data can be used generally for similar models and calculations.
