Important results from the project

The purpose of the project Mayflower was to build a prototype for a combined AI and gaming framework for complex strategy games based on Fredrik Präntares research within area and test the prototype on the market. This was done in three steps, 1) the prototype was pitched to local and international investors 2) the prototype was tested on consumers as well as, 3) a market analysis to find out the interest in the genre "complex strategy games" is affected by Covid-19.

Expected long term effects

The result was a prototype that could eventually be developed into a finished product. Through pitches with investors and consumers, interesting discussions were created about the potential of the prototype, important business contacts and different strategies for the future. Thanks to our market analysis of “complex strategy games” and Covid-19, we gained an understanding of consumer interests and behavior during the crisis. All in all, this puts us in a strong position in the continued work towards a finished product and introduction to the market.

Approach and implementation

The implementation was done in two steps where the developer worked on developing the prototype based on his research and the project manager was responsible for the overview, the market analysis and the contacts with investors and consumers. This created a good synergy where the job description was clear and the work could be streamlined between the parties. A good example of how different qualities can be used to create a whole in a project.
