Purpose and goal

The project aims to investigate whether the industry´s dress codes affect its attractiveness and thus the possibility of competece supply, and if so it makes sense to plan for and implement a larger project that aims to influence and change these dress codes. The project´s objective is to produce decision-making material to determine whether a project that aims to change the industry´s clothing and codes is meaningful and feasible.

Expected effects and result

The project should result in; - A literature compilation of research on the impact of clothing on the professional role. - A report on how the clothes used in the industry are perceived by existing employees and affect the industry´s attractiveness as a workplace. - A draft of a full-scale project which aims to develop industrial employees´ clothing and codes to increase the industry´s attractiveness as a workplace as well as the employees´ well-being and safety and ability to do a good job.

Planned approach and implementation

The project is divided into several work packages; - Observational study to map how the industry´s dress codes currently look - Interview survey to investigate the views of both employees and students on industry dress codes - Survey to check the generality of the interviews
