Important results from the project

Overall, the project aims at developing, manufacturing and selling a cost effective cleaning robot for commercial floor cleaning that significantly reduces costs and increases the productivity of cleaning. The objectives of this part of the project have been to: 1) Verify product relevance and specify customer requirements. 2) Verify a technical solution. 3) Create a technical and commercial basis for the next project step. All the goals have been met in a good way.

Expected long term effects

The work on the project has resulted in a solid technical and commercial base consisting of customer benefit, requirement specification, target price, system solution and a comprehensive business plan. The material will in a great way be used to obtain funding for the continued work of making final development and production of the product.

Approach and implementation

The effort to initiate the work of interviewing prospective customers to then create a requirement document has been good. However, it was more difficult than expected to get in touch with the right people to interview. The requirement document has then been able to be used as a basis for the work on developing a technical system solution. By building two experimental models, critical technology solutions have been successfully verified. The system solution has been a prerequisite for making a good business plan.
