Important results from the project

The overall objective is to contribute to that producer responsibility harmonizes with sustainable circular economy and commercial opportunities for recycling are created.Sweden is facing EPR for textile products. A prerequisite for producer responsibility to contribute to the transition to sustainable circular economy is that the industries involved reach consensus on the challenges. Tools are needed for companies to be able to act correctly for resource efficiency and value creation. Consumers have an important role in how textiles are passed on in the circular value chain

Expected long term effects

The project contributes to a producer responsibility harmonizing with sustainable circular economy and commercial opportunities for recycling and reuse. Expected effects are that resource efficiency in the industry is improved and that a system for textile flows that handle recycling, recycling is created and the amount of waste is minimized. It also enables more circular business models. Through this, the project contributes to Sweden being a pioneering country in the transition to circular economy in an international context. All goals set up in phase 1 have been achieved.

The first phase was divided into 4 work packages: WP1 - Compile and evaluate relevant initiatives. WP2 World Monitoring, monitor developments in the issue, and connect stakeholders in phase 2 WP3 - Scenarios & Toolbox, Sketch out scenarios, analyze which scenario (s) to develop in phase 2 and identify the parts of the toolbox. WP4 Project Management, compiles the plan for phase 2.
