Important results from the project

The purpose of this study is to suggest a model for how innovation management could be organized and to develop tools for how practical knowledge transfer could be delivered to relevant actors. This is done as a part of Vinnova’s strategical innovation program, with the aim of understanding and creating models that can be used when developing complex innovation projects.

Expected long term effects

The results from this study is a model that can be used for organization and management of innovation projects, and also suggestions for how the model can be applied in practice in an innovation program. The model identifies what kind of lock-ins and challenges complex innovation programs can face in their ecosystem and provides management tools for resolving these lock-ins so that innovations can be accomplished. The model identifies potential lock-ins early, sometimes even before they actually occur, which makes their resolution much easier than if they have resulted in conflict.

Approach and implementation

The analysis of two innovation programs CAM² and Smart Housing financed by Vinnova, is done after interviews, participant observation, and site visits to each. The analysis has been presented to the projects and VINNOVA, for feedback during the process of analysing the cases. The model for innvation leadership was developed based on the findings of the cases, and builds on the PBI business ecosystem analysis of lock-ins.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
