A project proposal was developed focusing on sustainable logistics at the system level for the urban environment with both incoming flows, circulating flows, and recycling flows, mainly in goods, food and recycling.

A project proposal for a comprehensive R&D project was prepared and is scheduled to start in 2020 and will last for 4 years. The focus of the project is on sustainable logistics at the system level for the urban environment with both incoming flows, circulating flows, and recycling flows, primarily in goods, food and recycling. The project will be run as a collaboration with a wide range of different actors.

Approach and implementation

The preliminary study was conducted in collaboration between academia, institutes and industry in different stages / work packages: initiation, idea development, strategic analysis, collaboration structure, research issues, and project definition. The work was completed with reporting and completion of a complete project proposal for continued research. The work was carried out both in the project group and through workshops and seminars to invited parties from various affected ministries and industry actors. The preliminary study generated great interest.
