Important results from the project
Out of 120 cases that were given innovation/busines coaching, 22 proceeded to business verification. 19 out of these 22 received VFT financing. All of these 19 took place in the second, third or fourth quarter of 2013. All cases that came in during the first quarter were managed via Innovationskontor Norr (Umeå).
Expected long term effects
A couple of cases have been passed on to the local incubator (ABI), some have proceeded towards a licensing agreement with LTU License, others have proceeded independently and for some cases commercialization has been put to a stop. Most of the verification cases are still in the verification phase and need further verification.
Approach and implementation
Decision making and administration of VFT-financing was first introduced at LTU at the start of this project. During the project the process has been adjusted to secure efficient use of VFT-funds. Key to this has been to introduce safeguards preventing allocated funds from being left for dead in projects that change, slow down, stop or otherwise loose momentum.
