Pre-study regarding standardisation checks

Important results from the project

The purpose of the project has been to assess the interest of Swedish stakeholders for different services. One service which maps the standards that affect their business, one service which helps them develop a strategy for working with standards in a longer term, and one service which provides financial aid for joining the work with international standardization actively.

Expected long term effects

The result of the pre-study confirms that there is a need for support, both for mapping standards and for developing a standardization strategy. The knowledge level concerning standards is lower than expected in the stakeholders. These services might help Swedish stakeholders to know how standardization works, what is going on and whether they fulfil relevant requirements.

Approach and implementation

A subcontractor was procured to help design the services, support in selecting the participating stakeholders, design and perform the interviews and interpreting the result. A dozen stakeholders were selected and deep interviews were performed with ten of them. The result confirms that there is a need for support concerning standardization and it gives valuable input to how a service should be designed. The content of the service needs to be flexible and tailor made to the stakeholder´s individual needs.
