Purpose and goal

Vimotek will contribute towards the acceleration of space industrialization with a cost-efficient standardized product for Rendezvous and Proximity Operations (RPO). This project’s purpose is to advance the RPO product to TRL5 and to produce an application to the EIC Accelerator. Additionally, the project will include important market validation activities such as participation in select exhibitions, seminars and industry fairs, as well as interaction with key stakeholders and target customers.

Expected effects and result

One of the five challenges of EIC Accelerator 2025 is “Innovative in-space servicing, operations, robotics and technologies for resilient EU space infrastructure”, making Vimotek with its RPO product an excellent candidate for the program. The technical development in this project makes Vimotek eligible to apply to the accelerator, and the application plays a vital role in facilitating access to capital and innovation support for the company from institutional actors in the EU.

Planned approach and implementation

This project is planned to start in November 2024 and finish in May 2025. While all activities in the project will run in parallel, the initial focus will be on the advancement to TRL5 and writing of the EIC Accelerator application. First, a short proposal (initial application) will be produced as quickly as possible and then a full proposal will be submitted before the deadline in March. Thereafter, development and market validation activities will continue to the end of the project.
