Important results from the project

With the help of positioning in IoMT, the healthcare staff can, within seconds of the arising need, identify the nearest and most available device and pick it up at the desired location without having to spend time looking in corridors, patient rooms or empty storage spaces. Healthcare professionals can optimize the workflow by reducing the time they spend looking for portable equipment and can instead directly see where the nearest, most accessible and fully functioning device is to provide the fastest and safest possible care.

Expected long term effects

The benefits of this solution is two-fold for both the hospital and the end-user which can be for example the patient. Here is a list of these benefits: - Efficiently and optimized use of devices and spaces - Easily finding the available needed object in real-time - Secured platform with proper subscription handling - Get track navigation to the object - Access to data analytics - Access to certain devices based on job role - Reduced investment - Ability to book devices/rooms - Access to reports of staff and devices - User-friendly app

Approach and implementation

There is a huge market opportunity within the healthcare network. IoMT is a fast-growing segment of products and services that, together with the increased use of "smart products" and communication, enables healthcare to provide safer, faster and more resource-efficient care. In the healthcare and medical system, tracking of various pumps. IV pumps, syringe pumps, infusion pumps, etc. seem urgent. The challenges are mainly the need of strong and reliable communication system, security and privacy concerns, and the lack of awareness about the use of the indoor location technology.
