Important results from the project

The project aimed to further develop selected conclusions regarding the need for policy change regarding the use of drones to ensure a sustainable future national regulatory framework. The work also aimed to lay the foundation for a long-term management of the cross-sectoral policy change this will entail. The goal of the project was to establish a continued collaboration around the conclusions of the assignment by the Swedish government N2018/03935/MRT between user, agencies were parts of the results is the foundation for further policy development.

Expected long term effects

The project resulted in insights and recommendations for continued work to establish collaboration for the development of policy and permit processes for BVLOS. This will form the basis for continued development of structures and conditions for smart policy development regarding drones and for authorities.

Approach and implementation

The project has been based on an agile model for obtaining research, co-creation, and reflection. An active choice has been to shed light on projects and results from a norm-critical perspective. Empiricism is based on: - Previous work on policy development regarding drones in 2019 - Interviews conducted with stakeholders and representatives of the drone industry. - Dialogue & insights from continuous dialogue with the Swedish Transport Agency Workshop on permit process and future challenges - Literature overview regarding policy for drones, policy lab & similar platform choices.
