Important results from the project

The aim of the project was to prepare the establishment of Test Environment Karlstad, a digital environment för learning and development within primary school in Karlstad. The project has been carried out according to the project description and a plan for establishing the test environment has been created. Three workshops with headmasters and teachers have been held where the ideas with the test environment have been established. There is a strong demand for development resources and there is also a great interest in contributing to the test environment.

Expected long term effects

The primary result of the prestudy is a detailed plan for establishing the test environment. The plan describes how to build a distributed environment where ICT-supported methods with the needs of primary schools in focus can be developed and evaluated. In the first phase schools from Karlstad will participate, later also schools in Jönköping. The effect of the test environment shall be to give schools access to new, effective methods for teaching and learning, with powerful support from digital tools and based on the latest research.

Approach and implementation

The project began by identifying the research base and the technical platform to build on. During the workshops the ideas behind the test environment have been established together with headmasters and teachers. Today these groups see the test environment as an opportunity to get support in the development of everyday activities on school. Through the workshops, the project group has also gained knowledge for what priorities to make and the training needed for participants to be able to contribute in the test environment.
