Planing Project Service Lounge Falun

Reference number
Coordinator Falu kommun - Omvårdnadsförvaltningen
Funding from Vinnova SEK 505 000
Project duration June 2013 - December 2013
Status Completed

Important results from the project

The project purpose and objectives are achieved, with the exception of securing funding for the execution phase of the project. The objective of validating the needs of the target group has been accomplished by interview, requirements analysis and thru workshops. In order to develop conceptual solution based on the requirements, innovation expertise from Innordica Design has been used. The process of establishing internal processes for developing concepts in the BAU organization has been started. However, this will need further consideration before moving into steady-state.

Expected long term effects

The project has arrived at a solid conceptual manual and a project plan for an execution-phase project. These document will be the basis for the activity of finding future partners and co-workers, as well as to find funding for the suggested activities. Further detailing of the objectives etc. could potentially have been made, but with the current level, the deliverables form a basis for proceeding the work with a service lounge. Parts of the purpose and the objectives will be further refined when actually operating the service lounge.

Approach and implementation

The approach of using an external supplier for the conceptual development proved to be very successful. It has resulted in a broader perspective, outside of traditional (health)care context, i.e. participants not traditionally working in the area, have had opportunity to share views and ideas. Regarding the estimates of resources, further investigation would ideally be needed before arriving at the final estimate. Another lesson learned is that the project team would have benefited from more frequent meetings. This would potentially resolved some misunderstanding in the team.
