Important results from the project
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The purpose of the study was to gather knowledge about the necessary conditions for conversion to emission-free road maintenance contracts through the use of hydrogen-powered vehicles. The study gives a basis to understand the eco-system for hydrogen-powered vehicles and maps the eco-system´s various actors and their responsibilities and challenges. The aim of the study was to identify which different areas of interest and responsibilities are included in an emission-free road maintenance contract which need to be developed and researched.
Expected long term effects
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** A number of challenges prior to a transition to emission-free maintenance contracts have been identified and analyzed and have been addressed in the value chain of various actors. Three different scenarios for conversion to hydrogen-powered heavy trucks in maintenance contracts have been presented and analyzed based on several aspects. The optimal scenario has been identified and recommended. A number of necessary conditions-creating activities have been identified and recommended in both the long and short term.
Approach and implementation
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The study is based on information obtained mainly through literature studies and interviews with industry representatives. Contractors and road managers were interviewed to get an idea of how road maintenance works today and how agreements and compensation work, as well as what opportunities or obstacles they see before switching to emission-free contracts. Representatives of the automotive industry were asked about, among other things, introductory plans for hydrogen-powered vehicles, which technical solutions they have chosen.
