Important results from the project
A large number of citizens have been offered greater participation in the formal planning process with the help of Placetoplan. Placetoplan´s dialogue project has so far involved more than 5,000 citizens. Placetoplan gave the organizations the opportunity to reach more people, not least during the pandemic´s restrictions on physical meetings. Placetoplan has made it easy for organizations to see and compile a large number of views that have not been possible before. As a consulting company, Spacescape has made dialogue reports that have become the basis for the planning process.
Expected long term effects
Placetoplan is "An easy dialogue platform". The digital platform has evolved from a prototype to a fully functioning platform for citizen dialogue about places and plans. It has been tested and used in several actual dialogue projects commissioned by municipalities and property owners. A total of 26 dialogue projects have been completed and just over 15 are planned for the spring of 2022 alone. The company Placetoplan AB will continue to actively develop the platform in 2022 and beyond, in close collaboration with Spacescape, which is one of Sweden´s leading urban planning consultants.
Approach and implementation
Placetoplan has evolved from a prototype to a fully functioning platform for citizen dialogue about places and plans. It has been tested and used in several actual dialogue projects commissioned by municipalities and property owners, including Lekeberg, Uppsala , Region Gotland, the City of Stockholm and Nacka, as well as Genova and Stena Fastigheter. These organizations have been able to increase participation in their planning processes and open up for a large number of comments, as well as reaching target groups that would not otherwise have contributed to the planning.
