Important results from the project

The digital development that makes the Smart Industry possible needs to be defined and clarified. The study leads to a new conceptual description of the development given the name "IndTech" and stands for digital opportunities that rapidly and massively spread in industrial value systems. But also that it is the question of a change that has its foundation in the computerization of industry in the 1980s and 1990s. A legacy we bring with us as an installed base. A clear goal of the study is to lay the groundwork for Swedish technology suppliers to continue their success in global markets.

Expected long term effects

The study with the results in the form of a printed report, future publication on websites and as a basis for lectures and articles, is a fundamental document for PiiA´s continued development. Where PiiA stands for "Thought Leadership" in the area we define and chose to call IndTech. With the addition of Swedish IndTech, we mean to lay the foundation for a development where Swedish IndTech suppliers will take further positions in the global markets. IndTech has the potential to become a Swedish parade event!

Approach and implementation

The method follows the former in PiiA Analysis/Blue Institute. Data collection takes place in two processes. One is a desk study with quantitative data and reading of knowledge. The other is interviews and workshops with representatives of companies, researchers and experts. The conversation is a qualitative basis that deepens the understanding. Quantitative and qualitative data are prepared and analyzed internally and externally, in later interviews and group discussions and in a validation round of the study. This ensures a valid and reliable study with high relevance.
