Important results from the project
The objective with the project was to develop a strategy together with a patent attorney from Brann for how the company can maintain and develop it’s immaterial assets in order to optimize the value and improve the company profitability both short and long term. The goal with the project was that PeptiSystems after completion of the project shall have a clear strategy for how the company shall handle immaterial assets from a business perspective firmly established within the organization. The project has resulted in a written report describing the company IP-strategy in detail.
Expected long term effects
The project has resulted in a report describing the company IP-strategy. The report has increased the possibility for the company to succeed in the market through better understanding of what must be protected by the company and how. A number of competitors have been identified through business intelligence as well as relevant third party patents. An FTO analysis has been updated as part of this project together with patent attorneys from Brann. External financing has been secured during the project. Development of a clear IP-strategy has been important for securing the investment.
Approach and implementation
The project was done together with a patent attorney from Brann with long experience from working in the Life Sciences area. The project was divided in 3 parts: 1.Current situation analysis to identify existing IP and innovations important for the company from a business perspective 2.External analysis to identify competitors and potential third party IP 3.Identify what assets shall be protected and how. Generate a written guideline covering information about how the company shall act in relation to IP.
