Purpose and goal
Chalmers Industriteknik, Chalmers University of Technology and a consortium of 10 additional participants from Europe and Canada, has submitted a pre-application to CETP2024 for project ORCHESTRA. Vinnova´s planning grant will enable the issuance of a complete application if the pre-application is approved.
Expected effects and result
ORCHESTRA will design an IT platform that aims to flexibly integrate different renewable energy sources, with multi-energy storage systems such as batteries, thermal sand storage, vehicle charging and other electricity demand. With this, the security and robustness of the electricity grid will be improved. Three results are expected: -innovative ancillary services, -flexibility management tools for grid owners and -dynamic charging solutions for electric vehicles.
Planned approach and implementation
CIT and CTH will start writing a full proposal to CETP in January. In particular, focus will be placed on the design of the tests at the planned sites and a concept for dissemination and exploitaion. Announcement from CETP whether ORCHESTRA may submit a full proposal is expected at the end of January. The full proposal must be submitted no later than April 2, 2025.
