Important results from the project
The aim of the project was to stimulate new learning and knowledge about academic mobility from the academia to external organisations with special focus on collaboration in education and with student involvement. The 76 researchers and teachers that participated have contributed with their experiences in the project blog for dissemination and inspiration and this has also resulted in a handbook that facilitates universities to run mobility programs and researchers/teachers who want to spend collaborative time in other organisations.
Expected long term effects
The project has led to the development of the organizational capacity of higher education institutions to achieve more and better exchanges, which contributes to a higher quality and relevance in research and education both now and in the long term. The experiences from the participants show developed collaboration skills and long-term positive effects in terms of education and research. With relatively small funds, mobility contributes greatly to the development of both individuals and organizations. The support of the management is of importance for these strategic projects.
Approach and implementation
76 participants have spent 20% of their time for 6 months with the external organisation. Results and experiences have been collected through surveys, focus group discussions and blog texts as well as in meetings and workshops. The arrangement with two separate exchange rounds during the project period made it possible to evaluate the first round and make necessary adjustments before the second round. Learning and exchange of experience between the different participants and their recipients has been a central part of the project.
