Important results from the project
The purpose of My Care Pathways was to increase patient empowerment and to enhance the pre-requisites to achieve a common view about the individual´s health between patients, care providers and relatives. The goal was to create innovative eHealth services, an innovation platform and to secure that the concept of commercialization of software can be realized in other countries through a commercial part. These goals have been fulfilled through timely delivery according to plan in all project areas and within the given time frame.
Expected long term effects
The project outcome consists of several deliveries: 1) innovative e-services, 2) platforms, 3) infrastructure which have been tested, put into production, maintained and implementation is planned/completed. Communication materials and market activities have described the benefits of e-health and innovative software development. My Care Pathways has established a basis for national and international implementation which may increase patient involvement, contribute to more efficient care processes and enable for new market players to develop useful e-services.
Approach and implementation
The project was a national project with broad support and close collaboration between county councils, patient organizations, universities, Inera, 1177 Vårdguiden and industry. A total of 21 project partners contributed. Four project tracks (e-services, service implementation, research, business models and sales networks) had high cross-track collaboration to assure optimal results, e.g. through quarterly workshops and collaboration with national fora. Internationally the project won prizes from the EU Commission and the American Medical Informatics Association.
