Important results from the project
During this first project phase; structure, working methods and plans have been established. A supplementary application has been written and approved in July. Collaboration has been strengthened with IoT Sverige, Internetstiftelsens IoT-konsortieprojekt, IoT World, Nationella dataverkstan, DIGG, Adda and VGR´s IoT VG and others. We have held monthly meetings, inspirational lectures, seminars (in collaboration with SKR and in Almedalen) and deepened dialogue with participating municipalities.
Expected long term effects
Smart City Transformation Lab focuses on organizational development and transformation related to (IoT) data management. The main goal is to ensure an actual shift towards “Common (IoT) data management capabilities” among participating municipalities in order to reach the full potential of IoT as a tool for sustainable, smart cities and municipalities. This is a journey that municipalities need to go through, and this first phase of the project has laid the foundation for this continued journey.
Approach and implementation
The project was largely implemented according to plan. However, the announcement of the supplementary application came later than the project management had planned, which meant some uncertainty - whether the project would be allowed to continue or not. Collaboration is a prerequisite for achieving the goal. Dialogue has been held with municipalities, regions and other important parties of the ecosystem. Sharing of experiences has taken place via Monthly Meetings, seminars and other forums.
