Purpose and goal

PART 1 - Smart City Transformation Lab is a start-up phase with the aim of creating the basis for a strong and eventually scaled-up project with the aim of supporting the municipalities (and regions) in receiving and conversion capacity linked to building a necessary organization to manage and make the most of IoT data in a common, controlled and secure way. The goal is to reach the majority of Sweden´s municipalities (and regions) and their ecosystems and ensure an actual movement.

Expected effects and result

The project is expected to support the municipalities (and regions) on the transformation journey linked to digitalisation and joint data management. This requires new ways of thinking, implementing and scaling up (IoT, data management, data-driven solutions and digitalisation). Long-term results will be that the municipalities (and regions) can handle global and local challenges in a more efficient way and at a lower cost than today, to the benefit of the planet and all citizens.

Planned approach and implementation

The project has 4 work packages: 1: Mobilizing arena and meeting place: Communication, dissemination and anchoring. 2: Organization and Transformation: To support the municipalities in taking the next step on the journey to digital maturity. 3: EU, Internationalisation, interoperability. 4: Project management, planning, scaling and long-term business/financing model The WP´s run in parallel. RISE is the responsible coordinator but will involve all project participants in all work packages.
