Status Ongoing

Purpose and goal

During the upcoming period the Paper Province 2.0 initiative aims to further strengthen the region and the cluster as a global player in forest-based bioeconomy, which, by promoting increased innovation and development, contributes to building the fossil-free society and to strengthening the region´s and Sweden´s competitiveness. Through increased cooperation nationally and internationally, we want to create a basis for long-term operations, achieve further impact and maximize the value of invested resources.

Expected effects and result

We will strengthen cooperation with other regions and nodes nationally and internationally in order to increasingly take a position as a global "hot spot" in forest-based bioeconomy. By creating broader collaborations and a more efficient and complete innovation system, we will see effects in the form of increased number of innovations, start-ups and establishments, increased equality, increased knowledge in the surrounding world about how forests play a major role in the transition to the fossil-free society. This will in the end lead to a reduced carbon footprint.

Planned approach and implementation

We divide the business into the following strategic business areas; Innovation and development, Skills of the future, Internationalization, Power collection for forest-based bioeconomy, Communication and Meeting places. where the latter two cut through all the others. We carry out our activities in close cooperation with others, companies, universities and public actors. In all our activities and in our communication the sustainability and equality perspectives are taken into account
