Call Educational collaboration and work-integrated learning - model and method development 2021

Important results from the project

The objectives have been achieved, albeit to varying degrees. In collaboration with 22 employers, various collaborative activities were included in a model of work-integrated lifelong learning applied in a business program. The project was linked to seven global goals of the 2030 Agenda: good education, gender equality, decent work and economic growth, sustainable industry, innovations and infrastructure, reduced inequalities, good health and well-being, and sustainable cities and communities.

Expected long term effects

The business program is characterised by extensive educational collaboration. It provides the region with well-trained students from a program with strong links to work life, including continuous business elements, assignments with company-specific data and theses in collaboration with the business community. The educational model is applied in a newly launched pedagogical project and exemplifies how work-integrated lifelong learning can be embodied in university-level training programs.

Approach and implementation

The project followed the plan and consisted of three phases: pre-design, implementation and follow-up. A preliminary educational model for work-integrated lifelong learning was developed, tested and then further developed in subsequent phases. Dialogues with stakeholders were central to capturing the needs and wishes of the business community. A combination of collaborative activities was integrated into the model, and experts in the field were involved in evaluating each activity.
