Important results from the project
OptiDies will combine knowledge to create a deep understanding regarding the complete tribological system. This involves a number of competences; tribology system, sheet and die materials, new die manufacturing methods, numerical analysis and cost modelling
Expected long term effects
1. Increased possibilities to produce parts with AHSS material by improved tool concepts 2. Functional die surface textures suitable for forming 3. Functional trimming edge surfaces and limits for trimming angles 4. Models to predict the total cost throughout the lifetime of a tool 5. Guidelines for form and trim dies 6. A multi-competence network of academic and industrial partners for stamping dies
Approach and implementation
Laboratory tests, screening tests, Semi-industrial tests and trials in production environment 2 Ph students admitted at the University of Halmstad. Volco Cars will be projectleader and Industrial Development Center in Olofström will be economical responsible and administrator for the project.
