Important results from the project
The Project has for all its parts substantially accomplished its aims. The parts that have been particulary succesful is the improvement of the continuous biorefinery process, better reaction processes for furan Products, techno-economic assesments, increased value of side-streams, research and innovation in World class concering biorefineries and new promising prospects for biochemicals
Expected long term effects
The Project has for all its parts substantially accomplished its outputs. This by showing; an increased value for forest industry from existing processes; to maintain the position of Sweden as a global leader in biorefinery development; and to contribute to reach the aims for the renewable directives concerning biobased Chemicals and biobased fuels.
Approach and implementation
The Project was performed as collaboration Project with Academy and industry. A collaborative planning and execution have been done with a continuous follow-up and up-dating of plans. A Techno-economic assesment has continuously and comprehensively been applied to the studied value chains. One workshop, nine regular meetings and two special technical meeting have been held. The Project have been characterized by a high competence level, a high working load, and partly of a high TRL level (production of furan intermediates; TRL 5 - 6)
