Important results from the project
The purpose of the project was partly to update and package already developed code to reuse as an open source code solution. The solution was generalized and complemented with descriptions for APIs so that more types of registers can be adjoined and adaptions created which should make national usage easier. The project delivers a complete but adjustable solution which was the purpose.
Expected long term effects
The solution enables the publication of municipal open data without the particular necessity of investing in infrastructure. The solution is scalable and hence suitable for both smaller and larger municipalities. The information is grouped through a common API which provides the municipality the opportunity to only display data or create an individual app adapted from the documentation provided by the project. The effect of is appreciated to stimulate information synergies and increase collaboration.
Approach and implementation
The project was founded on the reuse of existing code from the publishing of open data for the municipality of Härryda as well as the creation of APIs for two registers (Platina and Public 360) and an invoice system (Agresso). To be able to provide accurate documentation, the APIs were created and tested. Method, code and details were documented and published Github for general access (https://github.com/SoftronicCloudPartner/EF1.OpenDataClient).
