Important results from the project
his pilot project has aimed to evaluate and develop the concept of Open data services within IIS organization. The project has developed a web service prototype, created a website, arranged a hackathon, and compiled three reports. Furthermore, the project organized and attended meetings and participated in discussion panels. This is consistent with the goals of the project. Open data will be a service area in IIS Internet development department and a service plan is developed.
Expected long term effects
IIS has analyzed and evaluated Open data as a service area. Man has studied the knowledge field and conducted media monitoring, actor analysis, communication activities and developed a web service concept. The project did not develop new knowledge, but instead gathered existing knowledge. Based on the project´s results, IIS will take initiative leading to Sweden now and in the future will continue to develop the area of Open Data.
Approach and implementation
The project has carried out several parallel activities and engaged several individuals in the work. The project lasted eight months. The work was scheduled to be performed by internal resources but due to reprioritization of activities IIS has hired consultants to carry out a major part of the project work.
