Important results from the project
The aim of the project was to spread the word about Open Data Day 2014 so that so many local events as possible would be organised in Sweden. The result was the ten activities were organised which meant that Sweden was one of the countries that organised most activities.
Expected long term effects
The activities which were organised include several discussion groups, a panel debate, release of data about household waste collections in Sundsvall and Vinnova´s launch of PSIDatakollen.se. Information about the day was spread widely by bloggers and social media and there are more contacst who wish to organise and event next year. Many of the discussions that came up during the day have continued via social media. Gothenburg have planned several activities to follow up the open dialogue and create more suggestions for concrete actions.
Approach and implementation
Open Data Day was communicated vi a website, mailouts to various groups and in social media. There was telephone contact with a number of identified key persons. The impression is that the project received a good spread but that there is a need for more contacts with a broader geographic spread who have interest in open data. The various activities are deemed to have given a positive result and the format was appreciated by all who we have had contact with.
