Important results from the project
The National Board of Health and Welfare has conducted a project with focus on open data. The purpose of the project has been to improve the possibilities for the recipients to use the national guidelines and medical insurance decision support. The project´s main goal was to make the products available as open data and investigate the conditions to make it available as linked open data. National guidelines are now available as open data. The insurance medical decision support content to be updated before publication.
Expected long term effects
The project has led to a number of concrete results: the publication of a portal page for open data on www.socialstyrelsen.se/psidata and the publication of national guidelines as open data, development of concepts and information models for national guidelines and medical insurance decision support, investigation on technical platform to make available linked open data, investigation of copyright for national guidelines. The project has also resulted in that the National Board of Health and Welfare decided to develop the work with open data.
Approach and implementation
The project was run in five subprojects. One of the projects have focused on investigating whether any products of the National Board of Health and Welfare can be made available as open data in the near future. Other sub-projects has been more about working long-term. This approach was something that was recommended by the E-delegation in Guidelines for the re-use of public information and which also proved to be successful.
